Obama”s school speech - a dangerous socialist plot

Auto Date Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Obama”s school speech - a dangerous socialist plot.
Obama”s speech to children has been turned into a advertising campaign for socialism. ‘As far as I am concerned, this is not civics education - it gives the appearance of creating a cult of personality,’ said Oklahoma state Sen. Steve Russell. ‘This is something you”d expect to see in North Korea or Saddam Hussein”s Iraq.’ Florida state chair Republican Party, Jim Greer warned Obama is trying to ‘indoctrinate America”s children to his socialist agenda.’ Boo-yeah! Go “git “em commie bastards, Jimmy Bob!!!

‘It”s really unfortunate that politics has been brought into this,’ White House deputy Heather Higginbottom said. ‘It”s simply a plea to students to really take their learning seriously.’

What do you think they teach in Oklahoma and Florida?

Some school districts in Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin have opted out and will not show the speech.more

5 Tips to Get Direct Advertising Deals

5 Tips to Get Direct Advertising Deals.
1) Do a Google search for 10-15 keyword phrases related to your website and identify the companies that are paying for advertising on the top and side of Google. Don”t just use the most obvious searches. Search for complimentary services as well, since those advertisers might be interested in advertising on your site as well. For my blog, I would search for keywords such as hosting, web development…etc. Visit those advertisers” websites, and on the About Us or Management page, find the person responsible for Marketing/Advertising and call him to let him know about your website and rates.

2) Scout out your competitors” websites to see who is advertising directly on those sites, and see how your site stacks up on public analytics websites such as Alexa and Compete. Compare your PageRank and search engine positioning with theirs.more

“Boom Sha Sha” in subterranean marketing strategy

“Boom Sha Sha” in subterranean marketing strategy.
May and Baker (M&B), manufacturer of Mee Mee Noodles, anchored its advertisement at the initial stage the brand was introduced into the market in 2007, on two factors. These include registering the product”s presence in the noodles market dominated by Indomie, and secondly causing disruptions.” With belief that it has achieved these two purposes, Mee Mee that caused sensation with its Boom sha sha ad, which almost became a rhyme among the youth, has disappeared from the mass marketing platforms.Today, lovers of that ad are asking where is Mee Mee?” Oluchi at Isolo, and Onyekachi Emeruwa in Orile Iganmu asked recently at an informal gathering where is Mee Mee, are they still there?” Though, observers are however yet to establish whether the passion for the ad translated to the brand itself. But the brand manager for Mee Mee, Roy Ekekwe, who agreed that the brand ad was out of mass media, attributed it to repositioning strategy, revealing that the brand was set to hit a come back in the above-the-line media campaign soonest if there was no disruptions in plan.Ekekwe further defended the disappearance of the brand from the media by saying ‘for a new brand like ours, there are certain critical fundamentals that will ensure sustainable growth.’Asked whether the management of Mee Mee did not factor the fundamentals in the initial plan before hitting the market, the brand manager said the product achieved initial acceptance which was the target of the management.more

FOSTER: Fitting into the college scene, requires a little wiggle room.
Often times these notes and drawings advertise for concerts and other ticketed events, so be sure to read them and get to Schine Box Office to purchase tickets. Free-ticketed events such as University Union”s movie premieres tend to sell out quickly.

The best social advice I could give is not to limit yourself. Never think that because you”re doing one thing, you can”t do another. There”s nothing wrong with going from football practice to a ballet recital.

Also remember that being social doesn”t only imply drinking and partying or greek life. Do whatever activities sound exciting to you, and you”ll meet people who are interested in the same things.

The price of power: paying homage to the “Brother Leader”

The price of power: paying homage to the “Brother Leader”.
Page after page is dedicated to a large corporate advertisement, each rivalling the next in expressions of admiration and gratitude to the Libyan leader. The corporations doing the bowing and scraping read like a roll call of the energy and arms manufacturers hoping to buy or sell a piece of the increasingly rich country: French military aviation company Dassault; Russian energy giant Gazprom; and Spain”s oil and gas major Repsol.

The ads are a shrewd investment. Unlike the comparatively camera-shy Saudi royals or the conservative elites in the Gulf states, the 67-year-old Gaddafi enjoys being the centre of attention. And despite his Bedouin tents and protestations of modesty, he enjoys being gauche. The A-list who dined in Tripoli”s Green Square enjoyed a meal prepared by the acclaimed Parisian restaurant Le Ntre.more

Canwest outsourcing advertising production work in Calgary and.
(TSX:CGS) is outsourcing some of its advertising production work done in Calgary and Regina to a company with operations in India and the Philippines.

The exact number of jobs affected was not immediately known. The company, which told employees last week, said the move will help it cut costs.

Canwest Publishing spokeswoman Phyllise Gelfand said the decision was not made lightly.

‘Due to challenges faced by our industry, the global economic downturn and serious impacts to advertising revenue we have been conducting strategic reviews across our company with a goal of reducing our operating expenses - as have all other media companies,’ Gelfand wrote in an email.

‘We are not the first in our industry to do so. There are currently more than 150 US-based newspapers outsourcing such work.’

Gelfand noted the Ottawa Citizen made the same change in March.more
